Tea has been at the heart of Backyard Patch Herbs for years, and as the seasons shift, so do our blends! From the refreshing chill of iced teas in summer to cozy winter brews, our collection has grown and evolved to match the way you enjoy tea year-round. Today, we’re highlighting two of our favorite warm-weather traditions—Sun Tea and Iced Tea blends.
The Story Behind Our Summer Teas
When we first started crafting teas, our focus was on herbal wellness and soothing blends for relaxation. But as we spent time in the garden on warm summer days, it became clear that we needed refreshing, hydrating options that could be enjoyed cold. That’s when our Sun Tea and Iced Tea blends were born!
Sun Tea Blends: Harnessing the Power of the Sun
There’s something magical about letting the sun do the work to steep your tea. Sun Tea is a slow-brewed infusion that brings out the delicate flavors of herbs and flowers without the bitterness that sometimes comes from hot brewing. Our special Sun Tea blends feature a combination of vibrant, sun-loving herbs like lemon balm, hibiscus, and mint, offering a naturally sweet and refreshing taste with every sip.
Some of our favorite Sun Tea blends:
-
Calming Spirit Sun Tea – A crisp mix of floral chamomile with spearmint, peppermint, lavender, rosemary and cloves, perfect for a hot afternoon.
-
Roaring Red - Hibiscus Bliss – A tangy, vitamin-packed blend of hibiscus, rose hips, and Rooibus Tea that turns a stunning shade of ruby red.
-
Lemon Breeze – A unique combination of lemon herbs and a touch of lavender for an herbal twist.
Iced Tea Blends: Bold Flavors for Hot Days
For those who prefer a quick-chilled tea, our Iced Tea blends are designed to steep strong and full-bodied, standing up to ice without losing their depth of flavor. We crafted these blends to be refreshing, invigorating, and sometimes even a little unexpected!
Our go-to Iced Tea blends:
-
Berry Burst Iced Tea – A fruity combination of goji berries, elderberries, blackberry leaf, and other fruits.
-
Lemon Bergamot Iced Tea – Black tea meets lemon verbena, lemon zest and orange peel, and bee balm flowers for a subtly sweet, citrus refreshment.
-
Green Garden Cooler – A refreshing green tea blend lavender, chamomile and hibiscus, and a bit of lime zest.
The Joy of Seasonal Sipping
One of the things we love most about our evolving tea line is how each season brings new inspiration. In summer, it’s all about cool, hydrating flavors that make the heat more bearable. And just as the summer winds down, we start crafting new fall blends to warm your hands as the air turns crisp.
