Recipes - Cilantro Spread
Cilantro Spread
This blend was one of our first, but we called it Cheese and Butter back in 1996. We love the richness of cilantro and how it pairs with any Latin dishes. We love it in butter to sauté vegetables, or to dot the top of a well-grilled steak. But since we created it, we have created a couple great recipes that you can make with it too!
Cilantro Lime Yogurt Sauce (Makes about 1 cup)
- 3/4 cup plain whole-milk Greek-style yogurt
- 1 1/2 Tbls BYP Cilantro Spread Herb Mix
- 2 1/4 tablespoons fresh lime juice
- 3/4 teaspoons finely chopped garlic
- 1/4 teaspoon cayenne
Stir together all ingredients with salt to taste if needed, then chill, covered, at least 30 minutes (for flavors to blend). Bring to room temperature before serving. Great on tacos and as a dressing on salad.
Cilantro Rice
- 2 cup chicken broth
- 1 tsp. salt
- 1 tsp. olive oil
- 2 garlic cloves, minced or sliced thin
- 1 cup long grain rice
- 1 pkg. Backyard Patch Cilantro Spread
- 1 Tbls. water
Mix entire package of Cilantro Spread Mix with water and set aside In a saucepan with a tight-fitting lid, bring broth to boil with salt, oil and garlic.
