Looking to make a gift by hand for gift giving season? Try this wasy herb blend. It uses popular culinary herbs and can be blended in large and small batches. It is perfect as a seasoning in butter to use on meats and vegetables, add it to a biscuit recipe for savory flavors, or rub on to a chicken or turkey breast.
Herb Blend from Scratch
- 1 tsp black pepper
- 2 Tbls oregano
- 2 Tbls basil
- 2 Tbls thyme
- 1 Tbls rosemary
Combine herbs and shake together, add ¼ to ½ cup to a 4 ounce canning jar to give as a gift. Use 1 Tbls per stick of butter, sprinkle on fresh steamed veggies, add by the Tablespoon to quick breads and biscuits. Share the recipe below with the mix. Store in a cool dark place.
Lemon Herb Vinaigrette
1/2 cup olive oil
1/4 cup + 2 tablespoons lemon juice
1 tablespoon Dijon
1-2 garlic cloves, minced
1-2 teaspoons Scratch Herb Blend
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon pepper
Blend or whisk everything together. Refrigerate until ready to use.
