Secret Recipe Carrots
Using lemon on vegetables brightens the flavor and increases their popularity.
This carrot recipe uses Backyard Patch Lemon-Sage Marinade in a whole new way.
2 lbs. Baby carrots, rinsed
2 quarts water
½ tsp. Salt
2 Tbls. butter
1 tsp. Backyard Patch Lemon-Sage Marinade
1 Tbls. Brown sugar
Bring water to boil and add salt and carrots. Let water return to boil, then cook carrots 5 minutes. While carrots are cooking, melt butter in a large non-stick skillet. Add the brown sugar. Drain and rinse carrots, add to skillet, top with Backyard Patch Lemon-Sage Marinade and cook over low heat stirring to blend. Remove from heat and serve. They will last on low in a covered pan until the rest of dinner is ready, for up to 10 minutes.
I make 39 different "Herb Mixes." Each is blended to make a specific food item, like a dressing, rub, dip or spread. Recipes and tips for using the blend are included. These are packaged in a zip seal pouch with decorative labeling.
Because I grow and blend the herbs myself I can assure you no preservatives or pesticides have been used. I can also guarantee that these blends will hold up to storage for at least 18 months and still provide a flavorful item.
If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to ask and if you want this or another blend made without certain ingredients, please ask as I can accommodate food sensitivities.

At the Backyard Patch I craft blends of home-grown herbs to use in cooking and entertaining. Each mix comes in a zip seal pouch for easy storage along with tips, instructions and easy-to-follow recipes for creating herb-flavored delights. Although each was originally crafted to make a particular item, years of experimentation by customers and family has resulted in extra recipes and variations which are included with each mix.
Like all blends from the Backyard Patch we guarantee an 18 to 24 month shelf-life, because we hand-blend only the freshest herbs. All Backyard Patch herbs are raised organically and are chemical and pesticide free.
Although the weights vary each package contains three (3) tablespoons of the blend which in most cases is enough to make at least two recipes.
I have sets and samplers of these blends too, just check out our cooking herbs here: http://www.etsy.com/shop/BackyardPatch?section_id=7417786
